FAYETTE COUNTY, GA — A 16-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with a string of car break-ins in a Fayette County neighborhood.
Fayette County Sheriff Barry Babb says it happened during a two-week period beginning late last month in the area of the Bay Chappell Farms subdivision.
The teen targeted unlocked cars taking several items, including electronics and guns.
The sheriff says video helped lead to the arrest.
Many items were returned to the victims.
Fayette County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind citizens of the importance of crime prevention and staying vigilant:
- Always report suspicious activity immediately by calling law enforcement.
- If possible, install security cameras for more detailed and immediate reports.
- Do not rely on social media to report suspicious activity, and please contact law enforcement as quickly as possible.
- Remember to lock your vehicle and remove valuables when your vehicle is unattended.
- Secure firearms and other valuables inside your home.
