ATLANTA — A 14-year-old boy is dead after a shooting Wednesday night just south of Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Atlanta police say the shooting happened on Greensferry Avenue off Northside Drive. Investigators say the teen and another male were mishandling a gun when it went off.

The 14-year-old was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.

Authorities have not said whether any charges will be filed, this is an ongoing investigation.
