SUMNER, WA — If you have outdoor gear retailer REI on your short list for Black Friday, you’ll have to make those purchases online as part of the company’s “Opt Outside movement,” they’re giving their 14,000 employees Thanksgiving and Black Friday off.

“physical stores will be closed and employees are encouraged to just enjoy outdoor activity,” reporter Monica Nelson says.

All 195 brick and mortar locations will be closed, but online deals will be available.

The annual tradition started in 2015.
