ATLANTA — There is new information from Atlanta police on a deadly crash that closed the downtown connector for hours early Friday morning.

A woman was killed in the crash near University Avenue.

Police say when her car broke down on the expressway, she got out of the vehicle and was struck by a car.

That led to a multi-vehicle collision involving six additional vehicles.

Several drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation remains active.
