ATHENS, GA — Senator Jon Ossoff is highlighting a recent study from the University of Georgia, noting a 49% probability of a recession in 2026.

“This alarming quote from the report, quote ‘Georgia’s economy will struggle,” says Ossoff.

The study notes that federal policies like current tariffs could make recession a reality, but the economy overall for both the US and Georgia will still continue to grow, just at a slower rate, due to these economic pressures.
