COBB COUNTY, GA — Cobb County police are investigating a fatal crash involving a train in Powder Springs.

A preliminary investigation found 26-year-old Diego Lamothe drove around the crossing arms and attempted to cross the tracks at Brownsville Road.

Police say Lamothe’s truck became stuck on the tracks.

A freight train then slammed into the pickup truck and dragged it down the tracks to Lewis Road.

Lamothe was killed in the crash. Authorities say no one on the train was hurt.
