COLLEGE PARK, GA — An investigation is underway after a man was hit by a train in College Park on Monday afternoon.

Emergency crews responded to the area of East Main Street and Mercer Avenue after reports of a victim hit by a train. The man was air-lifted to Grady Memorial Hospital. Officials say the man is believed to be around 40-years-old.

The current extent of his injury is unknown. It is unclear why the man was on the train tracks.

Police have not released the identity of the victim.
