ROSWELL, GA — The City of Roswell is moving forward next month with plans to upgrade lighting systems at most of its athletic facilities in an effort to save money.
City officials say the project will replace aging lights with high-efficiency LED fixtures. The upgrade is expected to save the city about $36,000 a year in utility costs and an additional $42,000 annually in part-time staffing costs.
The lighting improvements will be paid for through a parks bond program.
