Major Georgia prison gang operation shutdown, 16 gang members convicted

BARROW COUNTY, GA — Georgia’s gang prosecution unit has shut down a large prison gang operation in Barrow County.

Officials say 16 gang members were convicted following an investigation into violent crimes, drug trafficking, and gang recruitment inside and outside of prison.

Among those convicted is Jamar Ramsay, the statewide leader of “1-8 Trey,” according to officials. Ramsay is currently serving a life sentence for a previous murder charge.
