CANTON, GA — A Cherokee County man is sentenced to 2 life sentences plus 70 years for sex crimes against a child.
Police officials say 40-year-old Canton man Michael Clay Downey was found guilty of abusing an 11-year-old girl for several months last year at a home in Canton.
Officials say the girl eventually informed someone about what happened.
Downey was found guilty of nine charges including rape, incest and aggravated sexual battery.
