Remarkable surveillance video has surfaced showing the moment a man disarmed the Monterey Park shooter in the nearby city of Alhambra approximately 20 minutes after his rampage.

Brandon Tsay is being hailed as a hero after wrestling a gun away from the man suspected of killing 11 people in a shooting following Lunar New Year celebrations at the Star Ballroom Dance Studio in Monterey Park.

About 20 minutes after the suspected gunman left the Star Ballroom Dance Studio, he strode into a dance hall in nearby Alhambra.

Video obtained by CNN and NBC News shows the killer, identified by police as Huu Can Tran, entering the Lai Lai Ballroom and Studio. Tsay, 26, whose family runs the dance hall, is then seen “walking toward the gunman, arms outstretched,” as he moves quickly toward the killer, pushing him out the doorway and into a lobby area, USA Today reports.

“Something happened there,” Brandon Tsay told The New York Times. “I don’t know what came over me.”

Tsay reportedly told “Good Morning America” that he heard the front door open and what sounded like metal brushing against metal. He said that when he turned around, he saw Tran holding a gun.

“My first thought was, I was going to die here,” Tsay recalled. “This was it.”

Tran didn’t appear to have walked into the business to rob it, Tsay told “Good Morning America.”

“When he was looking around the room, it seemed like he was looking for targets — people to harm,” he said. “This is when he started prepping the weapon and something came over me. I realized that I needed to get the weapon away from him. I needed to take this weapon, disarm him, or else everybody would have died.”
