Tesla has announced a recall that involves 362,000 vehicles.
Reuters reported that Tesla’s Full Self-Driving software could cause a crash, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced.
The NHTSA said the software allows the vehicles to “exceed speed limits or travel through intersections in an unlawful or unpredictable manner increases the risk of a crash.”
Some of the behaviors also include going through an intersection during a yellow light without showing caution, not doing a complete stop at a stop sign and going straight through an intersection while in a turning lane, The Associated Press reported.
The cars may also not respond to posted speed limit changes.
Tesla will correct the issue with an over-the-air software update, free of charge, Reuters reported.
The update will be sent by April 15, Bloomberg reported.
The recall affects certain vehicles in the following model and production years:
- 2016-2023 Model S.
- 2016-2023 Model X.
- 2017-2023 Model 3.
- 2020-2023 Model Y.
The vehicles have the Full Self-Driving Beta software installed, CNBC reported.
