Prince William and Prince Harry were involved in an event on Thursday that honored Princess Diana but did so separately.
The Prince of Wales attended the Diana Legacy Awards ceremony in London, and handed out the awards, People Magazine reported.
Prince William attended the ceremony alone as his wife, Kate Middleton continues to recover from her January abdominal surgery Entertainment Tonight reported.
The prince told the award winners that Princess Diana taught him that “everyone has the potential to something give back,” The Telegraph reported.
He also said that Diana taught him that “everyone in need deserves a supporting hand in life.”

The Duke of Sussex joined the event in a live video call from his home in Montecito, California, Entertainment Tonight reported. The virtual appearance happened after Prince William left the ceremony, The Telegraph reported.
“Thank you very much for inspiring so many others and at the same time protecting my mother’s legacy. I really appreciate that,” Harry told the honorees.
The brothers have appeared together at some royal events including the death of Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III’s coronation, CNN reported.
The Diana Legacy Awards take place every other year, according to CNN. It was created to recognize young leaders.
The Diana Legacy Awards were created about two years after Princess Diana died, People Magazine reported. She was killed in a car crash in 1997.
