Officials: Woman in California arrested for allegedly killing 2 young girls

SAN FRANCISCO — A woman in San Francisco, California, has been arrested for allegedly killing a 1-year-old girl and a 5-year-old girl, officials say.

On Friday, just after 7:30 a.m., San Francisco Police Department said in a news release that officers were called to a unit on Navy Road for a report of two unresponsive juveniles. When officers arrived, they met up with both parents, who told them where the juveniles were inside the house. Officers rendered aid immediately.

SFPD said despite the lifesaving efforts that the emergency responders provided, a 1-year-old girl and a 5-year-old girl were both pronounced dead at the scene.

According to KTVU, SFPD homicide unit detectives were notified and arrived at the scene to take over the investigation. Both of the girls’ deaths were ruled to be suspicious.

SFPD said investigators identified the suspect as Paulesha Green, 34. Investigators had found probable cause to arrest her for two counts of homicide.

Green was identified as the girls’ mother by KTVU. Police have not yet confirmed the relationship between the suspect and the two girls.

The investigation is ongoing. According to KTVU, SFPD did not specify the manner of death of both girls or a possible motive. No further information has been released.
