Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson makes rap debut in Tech N9ne’s ‘Face Off’

With his latest project, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has solidified his legacy as a 21st-century entertainment renaissance man.

For two decades, the former University of Miami defensive tackle and World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment champion has charmed Hollywood audiences in a wide range of action and comedic roles, even showcasing his singing and dancing skills along the way.

In an exclusive interview with Variety, however, the mainstay of the “Jumanji” and “Fast & Furious” film franchises talked about his recent foray into the wide world of rap as a featured artist on Tech N9ne’s new album, “ASIN9NE.”

“I love music. Anytime in my movies when I can implement some musical elements, I always love doing that,” Johnson, who laid down the last verse of the album’s single, “Face Off,” which dropped Friday, told the entertainment news outlet.

“Made my historic rap debut (thankfully I didn’t suck) Huge shout to all the hip hop & music fans for your HYPE reactions,” Johnson, 49, tweeted Friday.

The song also features rappers Joey Cool and King Iso, USA Today reported.
