JACKSON COUNTY, Mo. — A 7-year-old boy died on Saturday night after suffering injuries while on a hayride in Jackson County, Missouri, multiple media outlets reported.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the boy fell off the hayride trailer which then ran over the child, KMBH-TV reported.
Jackson County Sheriff Darryl Forté confirmed via Twitter on Sunday morning that the child died at an area hospital late Saturday.
The victim is a 7-year old boy. The boy was transported to the hospital where he later died. He fell off a trailer during the hayride and was struck by the trailer.

The child was “clinging” to the unit being towed by a John Deere tractor when he fell, The Kansas City Star reported, citing the troopers’ report.
The incident remains under investigation.
