The head football coach at Shiloh High School says his contract will not be renewed due to alleged recruiting violations.

Brian Montgomery came to Shiloh from North Atlanta High School last year. Now the Georgia High School Association is looking into the transfer of four football players from North Atlanta to Shiloh when Montgomery changed schools.

Montgomery said the school system offered him a chance to resign. But declined and says he has done nothing wrong.

“We're talking about an investigation of allegations but there have already been actions,” Montgomery told Channel 2 Action News.

District spokeswoman Sloan Roach told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution the school system followed up with an investigation of its own.

"As a district, we believe in the strict adherence to all rules and regulations in regard to the eligibility of our students and hold our staff to the same expectations," Roach said.

While the system investigates, Montgomery is working at the school system's headquarters in Suwanee.

“'I’m out now, searching to see what's the next move I'm going to have to make for my family,” Montgomery.

Students and parents railed Monday in support of their coach.

“I don't want this to be one of the cases that people just put to the side,” Student Courtney Farrow said. “I want them to really look into this.”

Montgomery went 2-8 in his first season with Shiloh. He was 16-14 in three previous season with North Atlanta. None of his teams have made the playoffs.

The GHSA defines recruiting as, "the use of influence by any person connected directly or indirectly with a GHSA school to induce a student of any age to transfer from one school to another, or to enter the ninth grade at a member school for athletic or literary competition purposes, whether or not the school presently attended by the student is a member of the GHSA."
