More than a half-dozen schools were on a brief lockdown Tuesday morning as police hunted for a Johns Creek bank robber.
Johns Creek Police say around 10:00 a.m., a black man in his 40s walked into the Bank of America branch at Medlock Bridge and Abbotts Bridge Roads.
"The note he passed to the teller said that he had a gun, but he never displayed any weapon during the time he was in the bank," says a police statement.
After he got cash, he simply walked out and disappeared. Surveillance video from the bank shows clear pictuers of the robber.
Johns Creek Police and K-9 units got to the scene in just minutes, with Forsyth County deputies and more search dogs right behind them.
Fulton County school officials said that River Trial Middle School, Northview High School, Findley Oaks, Medlock Bridge, Shakerag and Abbotts Hill elementary schools where locked down while the hunt was in their immediate area.
