His father is one of the greatest players in NFL history.  And now he's a convicted sex offender.

Lawrence Taylor, Jr., son of the football great, has pleaded guilty in Cobb County court and will spend ten years in prison.

"The charges include oral sodomy of a 13 year old girl," says Cobb County Assistant District Attorney Hannah Palmquist.

The charges against Taylor stem from July 6, 2013.

After he had forced sex with the girl she immediately sought help.

"And when she made that outcry," Palmquist tells WSB, "it influenced another girl to come forward and say that Mr. Taylor had also had been having sex with her for over a year."

The two girls were underage.

"Both of these girls were 13 years old," says Palmquist.  "The girl who he is charged with having the statutory rape with was 12 when they started and it continued until she was 13."

After accepting the plea, Cobb Superior Court Judge Mary E. Staley sentenced Mr. Taylor to 30 years, with 10 years to be served in prison followed by 20 years on probation.  He will also have to register as a sex offender.

The plea came on the day Mr. Taylor’s trial was scheduled to begin.

Palmquist says Taylor did not admit guilt but, instead, entered an Alford Plea is which he accepted that the district attorney did have enough evidence to convict him.

Palmquist also says he showed no remorse while in court.

Taylor is the son of Lawrence Taylor, who played linebacker for the New York Giants.
