Cobb County Police are conducting a death investigation at an apartment complex in Austell.

A 911 call came in at 9:49 AM  from the Walton Crossing Apartments on Mulkey Road.

"That 911 call was made by a maintenance worker who went inside of an apartment and discovered the bodies of deceased individuals inside of the apartment," said Police Sgt. Dana Pierce.

The Cobb County medical examiner took several bodies away from the scene.  Pierce says they are attempting to notify next of kin.

The ME will determine the manner and cause of death.  So far, there are no details of how long the individuals have been dead.

Neighbor Rashan Johnson says he did not know much about the family.

"I'd see the lady who lived across the hall sometimes," he said.  "She wasn't so social.  She'd speak, get out of the car, and then go back in the house."

Johnson says the woman lived there with three children.  He does not know exactly what happened there.

"I actually woke up this morning and heard the maintenance man knocking on the door," says Johnson. "After that he came outside, running down the steps."

Cobb County Police investigators believe that 35-year-old Kisha S. Holmes of Austell, Georgia first took the lives of her three children and then her own.  The children were a nine-month-old girl, and two boys, four and 10 years old.

No motive is known for the murder/suicide.
