The St. Johns County teacher accused of sexual activity with her 16-year-old student is pregnant, according to a post from a family member.
The Facebook post from a family member shows a picture of Virginia Hinckley with a sign that says “coming May 2016.” In the post, the family member says she can’t wait to meet her new relative.
Hinckley, 26, a teacher at St. Augustine High School, was arrested Wednesday and released after posting a $10,000 bond.
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims unit started investigating the relationship between Hinckley and one of her students in October. Following the investigation, Hinckley was suspended with pay by the St. Johns County School District.
A school district representative said that, based on Hinckley’s charge and the completion of the SJSO investigation, the superintendent will recommend that the school board suspend Hinckley with pay.
