An Atlanta woman is upset that Delta Air Lines asked her to rearrange her flight plans because the overweight passenger next to her was taking up his seat and most of hers.

Amanda Parker told Channel 2 Action News a Delta employee refused to confront the man the airline referred to a "passenger of size."  Instead, Parker was asked to rebook her August 5th flight from Oakland, California to Atlanta because there were no empy seats on the plane.  Parker refused, telling the TV station "I was going to fight for the seat I paid for."

A few minutes into the confrontation, another passenger agreed to take a later flight so Parker could move to another seat.  Delta does allow "passengers of size" to purchase a second seat for comfort, but it is not a company requirement.  The airline says these matters are handled on a case by case basis and in many instances, if the plane is not full, a passenger next to an overweight flyer will be moved to another seat.
