Health investigators descend upon the Georgia Aquarium after more than 100 people get sick from food by Wolfgang Puck Catering.

It happened the week of July 24th during two business conferences and a wedding reception.

Some of the attendees soon came down with week-long cases of diarrhea.  In all, more than 100 guests and staff members ended up sick.

State health officials blame Cyclospora bacteria for the illnesses, possibly from salad mix, spice, or cherry tomatoes.

Puck's catering does all the cooking at the Aquarium.   The company says it's waiting for test results to trace the contamination.

"The safety of our guests and employees is always our top priority,” Catering CEO Carl Schuster tells Channel 2 Action News. “Every day we practice the highest standards of safety."

He points out that since 2005; the company has served more than a million guests.

It does appear the outbreak is confined to food at catered events, and did not spread to the Aquarium food court.
