One man is dead after an overnight shooting in the parking lot of a Dekalb County apartment complex.

DeKalb County Police says there aren't many clues from the shooting, which happened around 8:00 p.m. Saturday night at the Hampton Village Apartments off Tree Mountain Parkway in Stone Mountain.

"A motive, at this time, is unknown,” Lt. J.A. Lewis told Channel 2 Action News. “And we have no leads.”

Some neighbors say they saw the 22-year-old victim just a few minutes before he was shot in the back of the head while getting into his truck.

“I didn't know it was a gunshot,” said one neighbor. “I looked over and I didn't know what it was.”

Police say they will continue to interview potential witnesses, including the person that originally called 911.
