A man who pleaded guilty to mailing in fake bomb threats has been sentenced to three years in federal prison.

29-year-old Valtrez Stewart made the threats against high schools in Marietta, Johns Creek, Stone Mountain, and Gwinnett County as an act of revenge against several women, Assistant U.S. Attorney Tracia King told News/Talk WSB.

The schools were randomly chosen and meant only to draw attention to the victims named in the threat.

"He had approximately nine individuals who were named in the threat. Many of the individuals who were named were victims of prior crimes committed by the defendant,” said King. “Most of the victims were actually responsible for the defendant actually being convicted of various offenses that resulted in him going to jail for approximately ten years.  One of the victims was an ex-girlfriend.”

The threats consisted of a collage of newspaper and magazine clippings saying a bomb would be detonated, killing 20 people.  It promised brutal murders if $10 million was not paid to the people's whose name was on the back of the threat.

There were never any bombs and the schools and students were never in any danger.
