A Lilburn man accused in the gruesome murder of a Macon law school graduate now faces additional charges.
Macon police say Stephen McDaniel has been charged with seven counts of sexual exploitation of children.
McDaniel's attorney, Floyd Buford, said the new charges have no relation to the murder case.
McDaniel was charged with murder in the death of Lauren Giddings, a 27-year-old from Laurel, Md., who was last seen June 25. Five days later, police discovered her torso wrapped in plastic in a garbage bin near her Macon apartment building.
The Telegraph of Macon cites information from arrest warrants saying police found inappropriate images on a flash drive belonging to McDaniel when they searched his apartment.
McDaniel grew up in Lilburn and graduated from Parkview High School. He was a fellow law school student with Giddings and also lived the same apartment complex.
