After years of planning, Woodstock is set to move forward on a new and improved downtown attraction.
The city council plans to accept bids for a new $2.5 million, 7,500-seat amphitheater this fall. The bids will come after engineering drawings are completed.
One city official says it'll be Woodstock's version of the Georgia Dome, attracting large audiences.
It's an expansion of the current Park at City Center. The extra grass seating will be used as part of the park outside of special events.
Construction could begin in early 2015.
