The old Hapeville Ford plant finally will have a new tenant.  After 13 years, Porsche Cars North America Inc. is moving from Sandy Springs to the former plant.  The company will go from being on two office floors of an office building to the 123 acre site.  Governor Nathan Deal tells Channel 2 Action News it could be good news for Georgia's economy.

"Certainly, Porsche is one of those companies, premiere companies, and we want to try and encourage them to do whatever is necessary to expand their presence in our state," said Deal.

Charles Rowe is glad somebody will soon be moving in.

"Since Ford has left, it's kind of a ghost town.  I think by just increasing the amount of people that have to come here in the day now to work, they're gonna have to go eat, to shop, to get stuff at lunchtime.  I think traffic alone will generate enough revenue," said Rowe.

There are reports that the company is planning to build test track, similar to the one in England.  They also plan on being environmentally responsible.

The company plans to make an official announcement Thursday morning at the state capitol.
