GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — Police in Gwinnett County are issuing a reminder on National Seat Belt Day for motorists to buckle up.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, about 49% of passenger vehicle occupants who died in 2023 were not wearing a seatbelt when the crash happened.

“Seat belts save lives,” Gwinnett County police say. “Whether you are in the front seat or the back, buckling up greatly reduces the risk of serious injury.”
