STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. — An investigation is underway after a burned body was found in Stone Mountain Park on Saturday morning, police say.
Investigators say the victim is a man, but did not release the identity of the victim.
Georgia Bureau of Investigation officials have been called in to assist in the investigation.
Stone Mountain officials say it does not have an impact on park operations.
Some officials say it happened in an area of the park that is not often visited near the skylift.
The DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s office is set to perform an autopsy.
The investigation is ongoing.
