DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Residents across north Georgia woke up to trees knocked down during overnight storms Sunday.
At the Northlake Manor Apartments in Tucker, a large tree crashed into the parking lot overnight.
The tree was reportedly on top of several cars and clearly caused damage to the roof of one.
Resident Musha Imorro said he was thankful he parked his car elsewhere.
“Imagine waking up in the morning, going to church and you find this,” Imorro said. “I can give thanks to God; that’s all I’ll say.”
It appears the tree did not damage the building in any way, and it is unclear if anyone was injured.
In addition to the downed trees, a little over 1,000 residents in the region were also without power according to Georgia Power. Since 7 a.m., only a few hundred residents have been without power.
