DEKALB COUNTY, GA — The search for a missing woman with dementia in DeKalb County has ended with a tragic outcome.

Police say the body of 79-year-old Ernestine Merritt was found in the woods off Old Ivy Court near Bouldercrest Road, three days after she was reported missing.

The original Mattie’s Call for Merritt said she was last seen early Sunday morning wearing a mink coat.

Investigators say foul play is not suspected.
