Metro deals with downed trees and power lines as storms move through

Late Friday afternoon into evening strong to severe storms have left their mark on metro Atlanta.

There were multiple reports of trees and power lines blocking roads - from Roswell to Sandy Springs and elsewhere.

In Cherokee County, the Sheriff’s Office tweeted the update of a tree across Bells Ferry Rd between Victoria Rd and Port Victoria. Reports of a minor injury when a tree fell on a mobile home.

WSB meteorologist Christina Edwards has been tracking the storms, which she expects to die down and fade out by 9 p.m. tonight if not earlier.

Her forecast for the weekend calls for drier and slightly cooler temperatures.
