Instagram says it will now alert parents when teens repeatedly search for suicide and self-harm terms.

The new parental supervision feature comes as the social media company faces allegations that the design and functionality of its apps impact the mental health of young users and are designed to be addictive.

This new alert is scheduled to begin the first week of March.
