It happened again. A protective beam for a historic Cobb County bridge was hit once again on Wednesday, this time by a rental truck.
The Cobb County Department of Transportation had crews on the scene Wednesday morning, working to repair the beam and reopen the road.
Wednesday marked the second time the Historic Concord Covered Bridge in Smyrna has been hit in the last few weeks, according to Cobb County officials.
The bridge has been a thorn in the side of many Cobb County drivers for years.
According to the bridge’s website, it has been a fixture in the area since the 19th century.
