Habersham County Schools close for rest of week after severe flooding

Habersham County roads washed out

HABERSHAM COUNTY, Ga. — Habersham County Schools will be closed Thursday and Friday due to poor road conditions caused by last weekend’s flooding.

Staff is still being asked to report to work.

The remnants of Hurricane Delta dumped over eight inches of rain on the county last Saturday, washing out dozens of roads and bridges, damaging homes and buildings and leaving people stranded in their homes.
