SMYRNA, GA — Georgia Power says it has completed a second trial blend of hydrogen and natural gas at a gas turbine at the power company’s McDonough-Atkinson Plant in Smyrna.
This is the first demonstration that validates a 50% hydrogen fuel blending with natural gas and the largest test of this kind to date.
The blend shows about a 22% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to 100% natural gas.
