The Belts & Jackets Summer Safety Tour is retuning to Lanier Islands ahead of the upcoming Memorial Day holiday.

State and local law enforcement are reminding Georgians to put safety first on the road and water.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources Game Wardens will provide boating and safety information as many Georgians are expected to have their first outing of the year on a lake or river over the weekend.

Just as seat belts save lives on the road, a properly worn life jacket saves lives on the water.
