An earthquake - magnitude 2.1 - was reported in northeast Georgia early Sunday morning.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake was recorded just north of Lincolnton, Georgia, near the border with South Carolina at Elijah Clark State Park around 7 a.m. The quake had a depth of roughly 3.4 miles.

The area’s most recent earthquake was earlier this year - a 2.3 magnitude between Washington and Lincolnton.
