A Cobb County man is in police custody after being holed up in his home for several hours.

The incident escalated into a SWAT situation at the home on Spring Mountain Lane early Wednesday morning.
 
Police said the incident started as a domestic dispute at the home earlier in the morning.  Investigators told Channel 2's Erica Byfield a neighbor called 911 after they said they saw a man beating a woman in the street.

Police and EMS responded to the home and the woman was taken to a nearby hospital.

Investigators told Byfield a juvenile was also home at the time of the incident, but they got away and went to a neighbor’s house.

Police said the man refused to come out of the home after they arrived at the scene. The man was taken into custody just after 8 a.m.

Officers said the man will likely be face charges of domestic violence.
