DECATUR, Ga. — Dozens of volunteers turned a metro Atlanta apartment complex parking lot into a popup Christmas shop this holiday week.

The Catholic charity group Faith in Action is led by Father Roy Lee, PhD. They arrived at the Villas at Panthersville in Decatur on Thursday with truckloads of turkeys, food, toys, children’s clothes, furniture, cleaning supplies and appliances.

The volunteers came from churches across the metro area. Lee said the charity “represents the spirit of the season and what our Catholic Christian teachings lead us to do: ‘Love one another as I have loved you.’”
One resident who won a raffle for a new appliance said she was so excited she ran home to call her mother.
“I told my mother there were some angels here today blessing us.” the resident said.

The Faith in Action Christmas shop is an annual holiday tradition.
