Daker found guilty of 11 counts of murder in Flight Attendant's 1995 death

A jury has convicted Waseem Daker on 11 counts related to the Cobb County murder of a flight attendant, and the repeated stabbing of her then five year-old-son.

Prosecutors say Waseem Daker stabbed the five-year-old boy more than a dozen times and killed his mother, Karmen Smith, back in 1995.  Daker was a suspect in both crimes, but wasn't linked by DNA evidence to the murder case until 2009.

He has burned through three defense teams before the judge allowed him to finally represent himself facing 11 counts of murder.  He was a suspect and also served time for stalking the victim's roommate.  But Daker wasn't charged until the DNA evidence linked him to the crime.

Daker claims DNA evidence and character testimony was all an attempt by the prosecution to "make [him] look bad."
