ATLANTA — Atlanta fire officials have confirmed that crews are battling a two-alarm fire at a popular Buckhead bar.
A fire broke out at the Buckhead Saloon just after 8 a.m. on Monday. WSB’s NewsChopper 2 flew over the scene, where heavy smoke could be seen for miles.
Roswell Road remains closed and it could be hours before it reopens.

It was the firefighters themselves who spotted the smoke from the second floor of their firehouse, which is located a few doors down from the bar.
Atlanta fire rescue says it appears the fire started in the back of the building where they first tried to go inside, but it became too dangerous.
The fire was coming through the roof and the main concern was for a condo building to the left.
“It’s very deep seeded. There’s been a major roof collapse of the building. Because of that we have to utilize those ladder pipes to get to the fire under where that roof collapsed,” Battalion Chief Jason McLain told WSB′s Steve Gehlbach.
Firefighters initially evacuated everyone from the Buckhead Village lofts, but neighbors have since been allowed back in.
Thankfully, no one was inside Buckhead Saloon at the time of the fire and no one was hurt.
This is the second popular Buckhead business to catch fire in the past two weeks.
On Sept. 20, Atlanta firefighters were called to the Tin Lizzy’s Cantina on Piedmont Road near Roswell Road just before 6 a.m. Fire officials told WSB that the building was not a total loss thanks to brick walls on the exterior of the building.
