Large sinkhole causes busy Cobb County road to shut down

Sinkhole Allgood Road A 48 inch storm water drain pipe failed and caused a hole to develop on Allgood Road.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Heads up if you live in Cobb County: A large sinkhole that opened up will shut down a busy road Friday.

Allgood Road will be closed from Cobb Parkway to Tom Read Drive. NewsChopper 2 flew over the intersection Friday morning to show you the road damage on Channel 2 Action News This Morning.

Allgood Road could remain closed Saturday, too, as crews will work to replace the pipe and repair the road.
