Marietta officials said a 48-inch storm water drain pipe caused the hole to develop in the road.
Allgood Road could remain closed Saturday, too, as crews will work to replace the pipe and repair the road.
Triple Team Traffic says Canton Road and North Marietta Parkway are the best bets for alternatives.
