A local entrepreneur just 12 years old, selling lots of Christmas trees and pocketing his profits to save up for school.
Wyatt Peters of Fayetteville has been selling Frasier Furs from North Carolina for the past four years.
His prices range from $55 dollars to $105 dollars depending on the size of the trees which range in height from five to ten feet tall. Wyatt also sells wreathes, tree stands, and for a fee will deliver and set up the tree with the help of his parents and volunteers.
Wyatt got the idea a few years ago when his school in Serenbe, GA was selling Christmas Trees as a fundraiser but bought too many trees and didn’t sell enough of them and lost money. Wyatt thought he could make the business profitable and decided to take over as a salesman at the age of 8.
“I’ve made around $1,000 dollars every year, and this year I’m shooting for $1,200 dollars.”
So what will Wyatt do with all the Christmas cash ?
“I’m going to save the money for college, I want to go to Harvard but if that doesn’t work out, I’m looking at the University of Georgia.”
