ATLANTA — For two decades Atlanta families have leaned on Jovita Moore to deliver them news and information, and now the Channel 2 Action News family is asking for Atlanta to support Jovita.
Jovita will undergo surgery on Friday to remove two small tumors on her brain.

Jovita underwent an MRI after noticing symptoms on Monday afternoon. Just before going on air Monday, Jovita told Channel 2′s Justin Farmer that she wasn’t feeling great.
Later that evening as she walked through the grocery store parking lot, she realized it was more than that.
“I was walking. I remember walking across parking lot and feeling like I wasn’t going to make it to the door. I was walking like in quicksand,” Jovita said.
A scan of her brain revealed two small masses.
“And so we had to start then having a conversation about what that was and what that meant,” Jovita said.
Her neurosurgeon Dr. Edjah Nduom said the prognosis is still unclear and he and his team are crafting a plan of action.
“Quite honestly we still don’t know yet,” Nduom said. “I can tell you Jovita is upbeat, optimistic and feels surrounded by love.”
Jovita is currently surrounded by her family as she prepares to undergo surgery Friday morning.
