CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga — A popular barbecue restaurant in Canton was damaged by a fire early Sunday morning, Cherokee County fire officials said.
Cherokee County fire officials arrived at Williamson Brothers Bar-B-Q on Sunday just after 1 a.m., finding pressurized smoke coming from the building.
According to fire officials, smoke conditions and the configuration of the structure made it difficult to locate the origin of the fire.
The restaurant located off Marietta Highway confirmed on its Facebook page that it would remain closed temporarily.

The fire was located and quickly extinguished before more damage could occur.
The structure was searched and determined to be clear of people.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
