BOGART, Ga. — One Athens-area store is taking the Georgia-Florida rivalry to a whole new level.

Stripling’s General Store in Bogart announced on social media this month that they are selling at least six whole alligators for UGA fans to toss on the grill as a deliciously devilish jab at their arch-SEC rivals, the Florida Gators.

“That’s right, folks! While the Gators may be fierce on the field, they’re no match for our taste buds! So, why not celebrate our inevitable victory by sinking your teeth into some delicious gator meat,” the store wrote on social media. “We know you’ve been waiting for this moment all year long, so don’t miss out on the chance to savor the taste of victory AND some gator goodness!” View the full post here on Stripling’s Facebook page.

The whole gator cost about $21 a pound and each gator weighs 15 to 20 pounds.

Stripling’s also has other options for UGA fans including gator tail meat and gator cakes.

Georgia faces the Gators in Jacksonville this Saturday, Oct. 28, at 3:30 p.m.
