He got away with the bike for now, but a thief has already received some physical punishment as well as some humiliation after his "face plant" was captured on a surveillance camera.

The thief broke into the Spoke House bicycle shop at 67th and Lewis and took a $500 mountain bike and fled the store.

But as he was riding away from the store, he hit a curb, which sent him flying over the handlebars and left him face down on the pavement.

The entire sequence was recorded on the video surveillance cameras at a nearby car wash, providing a good laugh for the employees of the bicycle shop.

"It's nice to know he got some sort of pain out of the deal," chuckled  Spoke House employee Zack Pfaff.

The bicycle that was taken is a Jamis Trail X3.
