Atlanta woman offers rides to stranded travelers

For a second day, a Metro Atlanta woman walks the terminals of Hartsfield-Jackson, offering to drive weary travelers to their destinations anywhere in the continental United States.

“I have a perfectly good car, new tires, oil changed; why not?” Jodie Rush told WSB’s Jonathan O’Brien. “They just pay for gas and food, that’s it.”

She explained that after one day of trying to get someone to take the offer, passengers greeted her with mixed reactions.

“One person said, ‘I don’t know if you’re a serial killer,’ another said, ' Oh, that’s sweet,” Rush said.

News coverage prompted Rush to try to help after seeing stranded passengers trying to get home. With time on her hands, Rush saw this as the best way to help.

“Christmas is not one day; Christmas should be all year long,” she said.
